Northern Rays Ltd. (NRL), is excited to celebrate 50 Years of Corvette Fun! The legacy of our club begins with a great partnership with our members, our community and our history. It is with heartfelt Thanks that we celebrate and send gratitude to the founding members – so glad you created the foundation what has turned out to be the best hobby many of us have ever had!
Northern Rays Ltd. joined NCCC in 1972. The founding members were serious about doing things right. The founding officers included Don Schmidt who was instrumental in establishing the club’s name – it was great to see him at our 50th Anniversary party! Dan Maroney was also a founding member and to this day maintains the Northern Rays Ltd. facebook page. Dan shared that the first club event was in May 1972, a tour of the Corvette Plant in St. Louis, Missouri – so a lot has changed – but thankfully the passion for Corvettes has stayed the same!
Today NRL is a vibrant and fun group that has stayed true to its charter and mission. We enjoy fun times with our Corvettes – participating in drive-outs, dinners, car shows and, Autocross! Most importantly we enjoy giving back to our community. In recent years we have focused our community service in three main areas: supporting local food banks, veteran’s organizations and a local homeless shelter. We hold scheduled food and supply drives and raise money for these precious and much needed local services.
Simply said, we are dedicated to the preservation and competition of the Chevrolet Corvette. Having fun, making friends and Saving the Wave for 50 Years!
